Students who complete the WOUB student professional development program gain high-quality digital, television and radio training in a real-world, professional setting that prepares them for successful careers.

Our students go on to work in public and commercial media in news and sports journalism, as well as broadcast and film production.

As a non-profit, community-supported multimedia organization and NPR/PBS member station that serves 55 counties in southeastern Ohio, western West Virginia and eastern Kentucky, WOUB Public Media is a trusted source of news, local content and educational resources for the region.

All gifts matched up to $2,500!

Paul Miller '71 is providing a 1:1 match, up to $2,500, for gifts designated for WOUB Center For Public Media. Paul started working at WOUB almost as soon as he arrived on campus, doing both on-air and production work during his time with the station. The three-time Emmy Award winning director is co-founder of RickMill Productions where he produced and directed comedy series and specials for Comedy Central for eighteen years. The company also produced numerous specials for HBO , Showtime and BRAVO. His directing credits include Saturday Night Live, and In Living Color. Among the many music specials, Miller also directed two Super Bowl Halftime Shows as well as the Country Music Awards (28 years) and the Tony Awards (3 years) for which he won an Emmy and Director’s Guild of America award. Looking ahead, Miller will once again be directing A Capitol Fourth and the National Memorial Day Concert for PBS.

Students start working at WOUB their freshman year and can try various media jobs to figure out the best fit for them. Through WOUB’s support of public service, teaching, research and administrative missions, along with its local content and programming, WOUB enriches, enhances and expands the lives and horizons of the people in the communities it serves, as well as Ohio University faculty, staff and students.
