Your contribution to the Office of Nationally Competitive Awards Endowment helps students reach their educational and professional goals and solidifies OHIO’s status as a competitive and leading United States university.
Students need determination, resourcefulness, and grit to apply for competitive awards. Your gift can help purchase the tools and resources necessary for students to conduct research, as well as travel and lodging for students conducting research, and for students whose competition applications require on-site interviews.
By making a gift, you are supporting current students who will be joining the more than 1,300 OHIO students who have applied for prestigious scholarships like the Fulbright, Goldwater, and Udall over the last 20 years.
Ann Brown and Kenneth Holroyd are providing a 1:1 match, up to $1,000, for gifts designated for the Office of Nationally Competitive Awards Endowment. They are committed to supporting this program which does so much to enrich and enhance the lives of our students and which additionally brings recognition and honor to Ohio University. Kenneth Holroyd is Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Psychology. Ann Brown founded and served as the first director of ONCA from 1999-2009.
Students who work with ONCA become strong self-advocates, able to identify opportunities for themselves and work hard to achieve them. More than 400 Bobcats have won competitive awards since 1999, with ONCA’s support. These victories boost OHIO’s profile, nationally and internationally.
With your Giving Day donation, you're helping students earn more than a degree: you're bringing them all the hands-on experiences that will transform them into community leaders, global citizens, creative thinkers, and world-changers. Together, let's encourage all these connections and more to propel them Forever Forward.
