Dr. Schuyler Eaton Cone earned her Bachelor of Science in Home Economics in 1977. After a year teaching on the Cheyenne Indian Reservation in Southeast Montana, Dr. Cone returned to Athens, Ohio to pursue her master’s degree. She earned her Master of Science in Home Economics Education and Clothing Textiles in 1986. Dr. Cone began teaching in 1989 and retired in 2014. Her grandmothers, Margaret Cone and Carol Eaton, inspired her to pursue academics. One of Dr. Cone’s favorite quotes is, “Be excellent to each other.”
In Ohio University’s Patton College of Education, students become the architects of their own futures. Students build individual portfolios highlighting their knowledge and skills gained through leadership and applied experiences.
