Ohio University Hillel wishes you a year of health, peace, love, and prosperity!

At Rosh Hashanah we reflect and renew our commitment to Judaism and look to the coming year with hope. This year we ask you to look to the coming year for your philanthropic support of our Hillel and join us in securing sustainable funding for High Holy Days on Campus.

Since 1939, Hillel at Ohio University has carried forth the spirit of the first small group of Jewish students who joined together for friendship, Shabbat, High Holy Day services, and community. Our mission to give Ohio University’s Jewish students a home away from home has remained constant for the past 82 years.

Give now to double your impact and ensure Hillel High Holy Days will continue on Ohio University’s campus as a staple of our Jewish programming for students for years to come. Thanks to a generous gift from Foundation Board Trustee Jeffrey M. Loewy, BA ’64, all gifts to the Hillel Discretionary Fund will be matched $1 for $1, up to $5,000!

Your donation to the Hillel Discretionary Fund will cover costs associated with facilitating on campus student events, such as catering, reservations, and guest speakers. Thanks to donors like you, Jewish students seeking a community to observe High Holy Days with will have the opportunity to join together and break bread with Hillel.

With your generosity, Ohio University Hillel creates meaningful Jewish experiences for our students that they take with them, helping to build the foundation for their future Jewish lives and families. As you are reflecting on the renewal of your Jewish commitments in 5782, we ask you to support our next generation of young Jews with a financial gift, allowing them to experience the vibrancy of Jewish life here at Ohio University Hillel.

From all of us, thank you and shana tovah u’metukah. May your year be filled with sweetness and health.

All Gifts Matched Up To $5,000!

Jeffrey M. Loewy '64 will be matching all gifts $1 for $1, up to $5,000. Give $50 and it'll have the impact of $100! When fully matched, there will be $10,000 immediately available in the Hillel Discretionary Fund.

Details About Match

As stated above, this match will double the impact of your gift — your $50 will have the impact of $100! Because the match cannot be applied automatically, when you make this $50 gift, the campaign balance will only increase by $50. Several times each week, the Office of Annual Giving will update the Jeffrey M. Loewy Match listing on the Donor Wall which will showcase all donors' gifts —up to $5,000—being doubled.

October 4th Update: At the end of this campaign, there was $1,995 remaining of the match which Jeffrey Loewy donated to Hillel. Thank you, Jeffrey!

Hillel couldn't be in person with Jewish students, but that didn't stop us from sharing peace and love with Bobcats all year long.
