Although this campaign has concluded, it's easy to give to Ohio University and support The Josh Nesser Memorial Scholarship.
In his 37 years of life, Josh Nesser '06 made an indelible impression on everyone he met. His welcoming smile and warm charisma left everyone feeling important and included.
Josh embraced life like few others and some of his most memorable years came during his time at Ohio University. His days at the College of Business set him on a path to becoming a successful and well-respected Chicago attorney. However, it was the nights and weekends on Court Street and beyond that forged a large, new group of life-long friends.
Sadly, the world lost Josh in 2021.
After being diagnosed with cancer and fighting with every ounce he had for seven months, Josh found his peace in heaven. His passing left so many struggling to continue life as they know he would have wanted. He left far too soon but his humble heart will continue on with the memories and friendships of everyone who loved and cherished him.
He is survived by his wife, Jill '06, and his three beautiful children: Bennett, Quinn, and Blaire.
The Josh Nesser Memorial Scholarship is being established by Josh's family and friends to provide needs-based assistance to future College of Business Bobcats from Central Ohio.
As his beloved wife, Jill '06 recently stated: Do something to honor Josh. Hug your kids tighter — read the extra bedtime story. Really breathe in the air around you. Show someone an act of kindness. Do something that would make him proud. Do something to honor him and show him that even though he’s not physically with us, he’s still making an impact on our lives.
