Donate Today To Support Aviation Students

Aviation Students Take To The Skies

Since 1939, the Department of Aviation has been helping students earn licenses and ratings. Today that means attending competitions and conferences, reaching out to younger generations to instill a love of aviation, and continuing in the footsteps of those students who went before us.

Your gift supports aviation students at OHIO and helps further the mission of the Department of Aviation, providing leadership, expertise, and professional development opportunities for aviation professionals. The focus of the Department of Aviation has always been to give students experiential learning opportunities that will stay with them for a lifetime—building solid foundations of collaboration and creativity to allow our students to have vibrant aviation careers.

Students participating in national conferences, competitions, and recognition events are at the forefront of experiential learning. These once-in-a-lifetime opportunities allow students to sharpen their skills outside of the classroom and meet with other national aviation students and experts. While these opportunities provide the aviation know-how, they can, unfortunately, come at a high cost for students. Your gift will help us bridge the gap and reduce the cost for students who participate in these events.

Aviation Student Events Include

Alpha Eta Rho Annual Conference (AHP)

  • Alpha Eta Rho is a national aviation fraternity founded in 1929
  • Build a strong bond with the aviation community
  • Provides a networking opportunity for students
  • In the process of reactivating the Ohio University chapter

National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA)

  • National Safecon competition
  • Builds solid foundations for teamwork

Women in Aviation International (WAI)

Aviation is a crucial part of moving people and goods across the country and around the globe. Your support helps students continue to aim higher in their academic careers and build strong professional relationships. We are proud to be but one stop on an aviation professional's path to taking their career to new heights. Support the Department of Aviation today through this campaign.

Your generous gifts to this OHIO campaign will help Aviation students soar through their academic careers and beyond.
