Bobcats Bound for #NSBE49

Your gift to the Russ College of Engineering and Technology Student Support Fund will help to DOUBLE the number of students we’re able to send to the Annual National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) convention taking place March 22-26 in Kansas City, MO.

When you give to this campaign, you’re helping to offset the cost of travel, room and board, meals, and convention fees. Your gift will remove financial barriers, providing access to this transformational event where our students will benefit from professional development, career development, gain critical networking skills, and much more.

Last year, we sent 5 students to this life-changing convention. This year it is our goal to send 10 students to Kansas City.

Gifts at any level help to put this opportunity within reach for students who otherwise would not be able to consider making this trip. Choose a named giving level, or click the Give Now button to donate any amount you wish. Gifts of all sizes are greatly appreciated and can help current Ohio University NSBE members get to the annual convention. The impact of named giving levels include:

  • Gifts of $50 provide meals for one student for one day of the convention
  • Gifts of $100 help to offset the cost of lodging
  • Gifts of $500 provide airfare for one student
  • Gifts of $1,000 fund a student’s trip

Please make a gift today to make this life-changing opportunity possible for 10 students this year.

This year marks the 49th year for this annual convention and the theme is #NSBE49: I AM S.T.E.M. The experience will be curated on the following:

  • Succeed Professionally – will provide students with the keys to success as a student, professional, or entrepreneur
  • Tech the Future – will showcase technical innovation, certifications, and training
  • Engage the Next Generation – will establish a successful pipeline from NSBE Jr. to Professionals
  • Manage Wellness – will focus on overall wellness and share the tools to improve mental health and how to manage stress

NSBE's mission is to increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community. Members of the OHIO NSBE group recite this at the beginning and end of each meeting.

Your generous gift to this campaign will help more NSBE students attend #NSBE49 in the Heart of America

Your actions now will make the participation goal of 25 donors quickly attainable. Here are four things alumni, families, and friends can do to support the Program:

  • Make a gift here in support of this Bocats Bound for #NSBE49 crowdfunding campaign.
