Dear Friend,
Thank you so much for your support to the Kelly Joan Hood-Reynolds Memorial Scholarship. Here at OHIO, we are honored to help remember Kelly’s legacy through this scholarship, which supports students majoring in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. Your gift, along with the generosity of Kelly’s friends, family, and those touched by her story, will help fund an annual scholarship for a student who has the same goal as Kelly did: to make the world a better place for young children.
If you take a look at the giving page, you’ll notice that some of Kelly’s friends have recently shared photos from their time at Ohio University and the Phi Mu house (one of these is included below). These are beautiful memories that show just how loved Kelly was by all who knew her. By sharing her story, we strive to support and inspire the next generation of educators.
Very early in our fundraising efforts, thanks to you, we reached our goal of 25 donors making a gift to this scholarship. Now, with two weeks left in the campaign, we have added a new goal of raising $5,000 for the fund. This scholarship is endowed, meaning it will live on in perpetuity and award a scholarship annually. Raising funds now helps us award a larger scholarship and make that award sooner. Every $1,000 raised increases the scholarship award by 4%. In achieving this newly set goal, we have the potential to award a scholarship that is 20% larger than our original goal.
As we work toward this goal, we need your help to continue sharing the message and garner additional support. You can easily post to Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn via the share button on the giving page. Furthermore, you can simply share this link with your network and ask them to make a gift to the fund.
Thank you again for helping support our students while honoring Kelly and her story. We are truly grateful for your gift and for sharing the message with your network.
Sincerely,
The Patton College of Education
